Caring For Your Jewelry

Jewelry is meant to be worn, loved, and lived in — but a little care goes a long way in keeping each piece as beautiful as the day it was made. Below are a few simple ways to preserve the color, structure, and spirit of your jewels over time.

  • To protect your pieces, remove them before:

    • Washing your hands

    • Swimming

    • Exercising

    • Applying lotions, perfumes, or hair products

  • Try to avoid:

    • Striking your jewelry against hard surfaces (even diamonds can chip or loosen)

    • Layering pieces in a way that may cause stones to rub or scratch

    • Contact with household cleaners, harsh chemicals, or aerosols

    • Using ultrasonic cleaners, which can damage delicate settings or stones

    • Regularly check for movement in your stones — a soft tapping sound can indicate looseness

    • Store each piece separately, ideally in its own pouch or box, to prevent scratching

    • Wait until fragrances and cosmetics have fully dried before wearing your pieces

  • For everyday upkeep, gently wipe your jewelry with a soft microfiber cloth to remove oils and dust.

For a deeper clean, use a soft brush with a mild dish soap solution and lukewarm water. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean cloth.

For emeralds, opals, and pearls — or any piece that feels especially precious — I recommend professional cleaning to preserve their delicate nature.
